What sets the Shoto apart from other guitars?
The Shoto is like a katana: precise, balanced, and uncompromising. Every choice in construction, tone, and design serves a clear purpose: an instrument for players with standards and character. No gimmicks. No excess. Just focus.
-
Who is behind UniCut Guitars?
I am Unicut, Florian Lüttke.
I personally build every guitar with experience, dedication, and an uncompromising commitment to quality and character. Whether Shoto Ninja, Daimyō, or Tennō, every instrument carries my personal signature. Tangible. Audible. Unmistakable. -
Do you also build custom guitars?
Yes, in addition to the Shoto series, I also build custom guitars on request. Do you have a clear vision? A specific sound or look in mind? Then send me a message. We’ll discuss it, and if it fits, I’ll bring your idea to life.
-
What versions does the Shoto come in?
Shoto Ninja – the clear, direct entry-level model
Shoto Daimyō – with finer woods and upgraded features
Shoto Tennō – the exclusive version with maximum attention to detailThe differences are in the specs, not in quality or passion.
-
Is the Shoto only intended for metal or rock?
No, even though it really shines with gain, it’s much more than that. Clean, crunch, ambient—the Shoto feels at home wherever expression matters.
It’s not the genre that decides, it’s you. -
How does the Shoto neck play?
Fast. Slim. Controlled. The neck profile is ergonomic, perfectly balanced, and designed for smooth playing without resistance, without compromise.
-
Where do you build the guitars?
In Bavaria, right in the heart of Europe. My workshop is not an assembly line, but a place where character is created. Every guitar is a one-of-a-kind piece, built by hand, with heart and mind.
-
Which pickups do you use?
I primarily use specially tuned Häussel pickups for clarity, punch, and character. Depending on your preference, I also install EMG, Fishman, or DiMarzio pickups. What matters is that the tone fits you, which is why I’m happy to accommodate customer requests.

Why Unicut?
Because you don’t want a mass-produced product. You want an instrument with soul, built by someone who is passionate about what they do. I build in Bavaria, focusing on what matters most: personality, precision, and presence. And I promise you’ll feel it as soon as you play.
